Movie theaters incorporate high-tech sound system to immerse audience into the movies. Home entertainment systems use surround sound system and other advanced sound technologies to stimulate an audio experience along with the visual experience. In one of my first year courses, we created a soundscape project, which only incorporates audio sound clips to create a story. No visuals were allowed in the project. Students creatively used right/left speaker, transitions in volume, and different sound clips to compose stories. I've been to an amusement park in Japan when I was young, and they had an audio illusion room. The room is a prison cell based and visitors are seated inside the cells with headphones. The headphones played the massacre of a chainsaw killer approaching each visitor. So after waiting for so long, the competition is finally under way. Through the orientation, i guess i was quite surprised to see how many functions the chat rooms hold...voice, drawing, web cam, app sharing... I guess it is way more useful than it looks haha. In terms for the outcomes for this first challenge, i cant wait to see what the other teams come up with, but from what i've seen so far, it would be smart of us to start rallying up some audience support!

Anyways, that concludes my random rant of the day. Ill sign off with a random photo we had taken during the team photo shoot. As you can see, we had some issues with the remote controlled shutter ^_^;

I actually watched the show at Disney World with the smell-o-vison-type-thing that was in the wikipedia link that Shannon posted. It was super cool! I also remember a part that had bugs or mice or some kind of critters running around and you felt things actually brushing your feet. The only aspect I didn't enjoy was that you're constantly reminded that you're in a theatre and so you can't get fully absorbed in the plotline. <
