The Back-Up Plan
Here's our final entry, folks! Hope you enjoy it as much as Amanda enjoyed strangers looking at her funny.

Nice contrast between the
Nice contrast between the monochrome and colour for problems and solutions. I thought that was a cool visual device.
Only problem was that the video froze up my computer while it was loading. =(

Nice job! Creative
Nice job! Creative simulation to limit back mobility and a good look at both your personal adaptation to your new place on the continuum and the kinds of changes to product selection and use that could make daily activities easier. Liked your commentary as well as the visuals.

I threw my lower back out in
I threw my lower back out in first year doing laundry in residence, and that sucked. I lived on the fourth floor, and the machines were in the basement; of course, in the old building there were no elevators. I hauled two loads worth down the stairs each time (okay, I won't lie, I hadn't done laundry in awhile)... and then wrote two exams, and spent far too much time in airports going home. Needless to say, by early January I had to make a series of dates with a chiropractor.
And because chiro is expensive, and my life is busy busy busy, I still have days were my lower back is super stiff.
Moral of the story is, own less clothes so laundry loads are small!
That must have been really uncomfortable, wearing that get-up. I know that Fraser had some serious hand cramps at the end of the day from his hook and tape assembly.

fantastic & effective
Very well done, A-team! Your simulation was informative, detailed, and highly entertaining. Narration was excellent. I appreciated the way in which you presented disability challenges vs. "back-up plan" accommodations (cleverly illustrated in B&W vs. colour). Your presentation illustrated some good applications of universal design. You included a variety of experiences: not just the physical challenges of a simulated loss of ability, but also some of the emotional impact. Nice work!

Spinal Tap
You really tapped into how debilitating and frustrating back mobility issues are. I couldn't help but be impressed with how many assistive devices and aids there are for it.

I would imagine you have
I would imagine you have some pretty amazing bloopers. Nice clean effort. You guys did a fantastic job with video media this week. I winced in sympathy every time Amanda had to bend over.

Back on Top.
This kicked ass.
Everything about this was fabulous. The content was a direct-hit with the challenge guidelines, while the video was shot and edited wonderfully, with some clever cuts and closeups to keep the flow interesting (and the mono/colour contrasts were a nice device). The narration was perfectly paced, and the narrator's tone (was that Amanda?) was sincere and convincing. The dialogue was well-scripted, too.
I learned, laughed, sympathized, and was fully engaged the whole time.
With just a little bit of additional polish, this video would be worthy of distribution. Yes, seriously. Though, I don't believe there is a wide theatrical release market for a video like this. :)
Probably one of the best efforts I've seen in this competition... you guys have really hit your stride.
[It needs a disclaimer, though: "No oranges were harmed during the filming of this video."]

ALWAYS Have a Plan B!
Trust me on this.
Great effort this week, A Team! I agree with the comments already mentioned by my esteemed judge colleagues. The clincher for me is that I really felt what you were trying to impart. That's what nailed it for me.
Good on ya!

Teletubby! Teletub, a rub-a-dub-dub!
The look that a passing stranger gave Amanda as she came out of the elevator, (and the camera filming her was still out of view), was priceless.
