How do I change the battery??
Idea works well, not sure that I would find the remote when I burn my toast though! I usually wave the tea towel at it until it stops!
On reflection, though... I am not sure I want someone to turn the alarm off - they might forget to turn it back on! Yikes! The fellow I am staying with here in Fredericton just had his whole interior of the house rebuilt because of an electrical fire that quietly took hold and smoldered throughout the house. Had he been home he might have known as he had many smoke alarms in working condition - alas his neighbours were too far away to hear them...

remote control alarm
I like it. Temporarily turning it off could be on a timer so that it resets itself in 1, 2 or 5 minutes. You could also have it momentarily beep if off for more than 1 hour or preset number.
I also find them irritating when they go off from my burnt toast as they are extremely loud when you go to pull the battery out, which in itself, means getting a chair, ladder etc, to get at it.
I'd buy a couple...

That's a very neat idea, and
That's a very neat idea, and could be very useful for all kinds of people.
Except, I'm confused about the colour-coding for colour blind people. It seems... ineffective to have colour-coded buttons on the remote for those who cannot distinguish the difference. My oldest brother is colour-blind and he can't tell the difference between red and green at all (so he's red-green rather than blue-yellow deficient), but it seems like if the remote simply said "Alarm Off" it could be more effective.
