You Can Run-of-River, But You Can’t Hydro
In this week's challenge, we decided to shake things up a bit and set it in the future, looking back. The VICES website is set in 2021, using stats and information we project to happen, looking back at 2008's current stats and information. There's lots to explore, with the website, blog, and an interview.

As well, the numbers in the chart were taken from BC Hydro's website, not the charts of dare2bdigital's Challenge 5 guidelines, because we found that they were inconsistent in comparison to a majority of sources we found while researching.

I'm pretty sure Germany was
I'm pretty sure Germany was never part of the Commonwealth.
I still think he got it while globetrotting in the glory days of Esperanto.
Sorry I couldn't make that laugh sound remotely natural. Your voice just goes an extra extra semitones higher than any manly man's voice should when you're amused by heinous energy offenders.

Your title sucks
But the rest of it was really cool and well done! I love your radio interview--Rick Fiddy is my new favorite person. Although that laugh of his was a little unnatural...
Just kidding. Your title is awesome. It will become Legend-dairy

CREATIVITY!!!!! - AMAZING!!!
Loved the entire concept of your take on this challenge. Projecting into the future based on real time numbers and real time concerns - brilliant; building it into a futuristic website, interview, etc. - again, brilliant. The site is very user friendly - even for a non-techie like myself, and very well organized. I like that you considered a proud range of green energy, that your research material is very current and that you even thought to include population growth in the equation; your time and depth of research must have been substantial. BUT what blew me away was how you took all of this (dry) information and turned it into an incredibly approachable storyline. This is quite likely the most creative response to ANY of the challenges.

Terrific concept!
Thanks for giving us such an engaging presentation. You made me smile more than once!

do you know what a 'groupie' is?
Maybe the whole groupie thing was before your time. But it is still a word in my lexicon: a groupie is somebody who loves a (usually musical) group's work so much, they follow them around with insane loyalty & devotion. Well, I am not quite at that level & I hate to sound effusive but LoN, YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!!! An excellent presentation. Your approach was original & effective. I am impressed with the way in which you created an entire, detailed, believable history of energy diversification for BC, incorporating geography, meteorology, & culture. I love the way you guys flesh out the bones of every project: the blog, the CBC radio interview, the 3-tiered system, the cult figure of Rick Fiddy.

Sweet! Groupies!
We were actually talking about having a party in which Rick Fiddy was invited to; but of course, he and I couldn't be in the room at the same time, so I would have to make excuses to leave and continually "miss" Rick. We wouldn't tell anyone what we were doing, and obviously our friends would know it was me just in a different jacket, but those in on the cult of Fiddy would pretend wholeheartedly that whenever I was in the plaid blazer, speaking in that crazy weird voice, I was Rick Fiddy.
This is the kind of stuff we talk about.
We racked our brains on this challenge, trying to come up with an effective and creative way of presenting more or less, the same material as everyone else. The VICES site grew out of a half-hour conversation between myself, Shannon, and Fraser while lazing about on damp grass in an errant sunbeam Saturday afternoon. It all just... fell into place. I'm glad people are so receptive to our submission this week, because that's what we were aiming for.

Above and beyond
Your presentation was wonderful, and so much more than I could ever have expected. It was such a perfect idea to set it in the future looking back, and it worked really well. The website was intriguing and fun to explore. The radio interview was well done. I loved the idea of the 3 tier system. Your numerous choices make the overall system very robust and reliable. It was a great idea to include heat exchange systems - they have a lot of promise. I wish you had said more about why you didn't choose some of the options.

very well-done
I am inspired by your effort and creativity. I liked you website but I am ickky about the logo. But then again this isn't a design competition so how your logo looks doesn't really matter. I really do appreciate the weekly comments you guys give to us. Thank you.

Hehe
The logo was mostly a joke we thought people wouldn't notice, but you've got sharp eyes! It is a little cheesy, but definitely something a community organization like VICES would do. I mean, come on, they've got Rick Fiddy as their spokesman!
Thanks for the feedback though, I also appreciate it a lot!

Once again...
You guys really do have a great team. The ideas you come up with! Every week it's something more than the last, though entirely unique! I really liked the CBC4 interview, though I think one of my favourite parts of it was the reference to the salal industry being bad for the environment. ;) That was fun. But yes! You guys are fantastic.

...
Rick Fiddy is a Commonwealth man, and his accent reflects that. This is my explanation as to why he has British, Welsh, South African, German, and Canadian speech patterns.
