Puts the "active" into "interactivity"!
First off, thank goodness you provided a full-screen version. :)
This format works very well for these kinds of presentations. It provides a high-bandwidth flow of information, but keeps things very organized and interesting at the same time. Good choice. And the animations were kept simple and clean -- again, another good choice. No complaints about the information, either.
Two issues though: it would have been helpful to include (somewhere?) an actual photo of devil's club to help make the connection to those unfamiliar with the plant. Also, a few simple sound effects would have helped on clicking. The presentation was so acoustically barren that I ended up cranking some Metallica in the background just to keep things interesting.

Impressive! Very clean, very simple, very nice.
Wow, that is a beautifully drawn picture of Devil's club.
You guys sure have a knack for flash. There's no denying.
Some audio or narration would have been nice though. I appreciate the full screen version as well.

I got a giggle out of making
I got a giggle out of making thing glow and pop up; easily entertained, yes. I enjoyed the flash format. I have a feeling Flash is your strong suit. I hope you can use it in the next challenge, I'd like to see more.

a very smooth devil's club presentation
Is one even *allowed* to use the words 'smooth' & 'devil's club' in the same sentence? Maybe only if you are talking about a clean presentation like this. Dattebayo, you obviously know how to make the medium work for you.
Areas for improvement? I found the interactivity a bit confusing. In the blocks of text there are highlighted words that kind of looked like hyperlinks but when I clicked on them the blocks of text just disappeared. So maybe it's just that I'm a bit click-happy but I found the setup confusing. Two other critiques: I would have liked to have seen more research, esp. using BC sources. The range you suggest for the distribution of devil's club is incorrect: it's found in many places of BC, especially in damp areas of the Coast, but you say it's in the North & Rocky Mtn. park areas only. Not true & I know this from personal suffering. Another critique: your written English, while not bad, would have benefitted from tighter editing. Errors in grammar & sentence structure brought down your 'quality' grade somewhat.

Good information and
Good information and illustration.
One of the most mysterious of the mystery-meat style UIs I've seen, though. Click on random parts of a plant to get random bits of information.
