Water

Alrighty then , here's my submission.

One of my hobbies is Photography, so I
felt as if this contest was calling out to me. Instead of looking for a
mystery, I tried using my photography skills to create something
mysterious. After all, one of
the rules of the press is “If there isn't any news, make some!”

For this challenge, I decided to
capture something that the human eye cannot.

My all-time favorite genre of pictures
is water. It's something so simple, yet you can take a thousand
pictures of it and each time something different will show up.

Water is something with infinite
energy; it is always moving, always flowing.

Bearing witness to such power, I
sometimes feel as if its my duty to capture it on film.

A still moment in time. Thats what a
camera captures.

A camera is perfect for something as
restless as water.

When someone sees flowing water, they
see the motion of the water moving

However, with my camera, I attempted to
show what a person would see if they could see the movement of water frame by frame.

Taken with flash, this photo captured
the flowing water in 1/250th of a second. In order to see
what I wanted, I used my camera to slow down time to a halt.

I found this one moment of time where
the water demonstrates
it's brilliance in full effect.

My challenge for the audience, is to
find out where and how I took the picture.

Good luck!

Picture not working

Hmm, it seems that the attached picture is not working. Probably because of the # in the filename (It's my way of numbering my pictures).

I have re-uploaded my picture to imageshack here:

Sorry about that!

It's a mystery!

I don't [yet] have a guess, but I wanted to compliment you on the amazing picture!

paddles?

Perhaps water dripping off a paddle? Yes, quite a shot, and a nicely written description that sets up the image well.

Stainless steel?

That looks like a stainless steel bowl or kitchen sink maybe? It that case it would be really easy to set up a camera on the counter and keep the water flow nice and steady or adjusted as necessary from the tap. Very cool picture!

Definitely looks

Definitely looks metallic.
This would be an excellent wallpaper.

Definitely got the stainless

Definitely got the stainless steel too. You can see the grain of it, if you look closely.

The ripple effect

The pulse of water knows no barriers. Years from now how stainless would the steel be?

Water Water Everywhere!

'Water water everywhere, though all the boards did shrink,
Water water everywhere, nor any drop to drink!'

Recognize those lines? It's from the epic poem 'Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner' by Samuel Coleridge.

This shot grabbed my attention when I first saw it. There is something in the dynamic quality of water ever changing as it flows.

What was pouring the water? What was the water being poured into? How deep was the water? What was the strange object in right corner of the image? Questions, questions.

A most intriguing picture.
